Why I Coach Women Over 50

September 19, 2022 by Christine Robinson Leave a Comment

A Woman Of  50+ Years Has Everything The World Needs!

She is full of wisdom and has probably seen and heard it all (well a lot anyway). She knows what she likes and doesn’t like. She has spent many years nurturing, even when she felt too tired to. Oftentimes she would have been the one to hold everything together. She cares about people and what happens to them. She can also hold more than one thought in her head at a time!

She is a powerhouse of inner strength and feminine energy. And the world needs her more than ever right now. There is no better time for 50+ women to stop being invisible and unleash their magic.

So Who Is In There?

I see women who’re not feeling it. They have lost a sense of who they are and what they are capable of. They have not felt free and creative since they were in their 20s. They have taken care of everyone and everything else, even when they had a career. They don’t feel seen or heard. They just don’t feel valid. They have no idea who is inside. A sense of desperation rises up inside. Where did she go?

How Did You Get Here?

There are many reasons why we lose our sense of self. It can be divorce, no direction with our work, no sense of purpose after raising children, etc.

At this moment, you might be feeling sad, angry and frustrated, but mostly lost and desperate. Perhaps it has taken quite some time for you to get here; years of ups and downs, dreaming and making decisions in your head, then taking them back, trying to make things work, but you always end up in the same place to please everyone else. Or maybe you have been thrown into confusion by somebody else’s decision. And now you just feel exhausted by life itself. It’s possible you’ve hit your bottom line.

Most people don’t realise what their bottom line is until it appears. Our bottom line is that monumental moment when we say: “Enough is enough!”.

Don’t Be Afraid

I’ve experienced numerous bottom lines, and I’ve come out the other side. But I truly wish I’d had a coach who could show me the way; someone to show me that everything I need is already inside of me; to inspire me to be who I really am and to begin again from my deepest core, creating a life that I have full agency over. I needed someone who would guide me and help me to take action. Instead I sought all the help I could find whether it was therapists, natural healing doctors, books, seminars, etc.

Over the decades, my learnings have taught me not to be afraid of change, and I want to help you to feel the same. Once you hit 50ish it might feel like you’re faced with a new kind of freedom, but you’re not sure what to do with it. Maybe you are thinking of making a change in your life, or you’re in a position where change has been forced upon you. Either way it can feel quite scary, like jumping off a cliff without a parachute!

I Love Life And I Want The Same For You!

Every human being has the capacity to do more, be more, and to tap into their deep authentic self. It is about slowing things down, looking inward, letting go of the old and opening up to the new. The new you. The one you’ve been missing all this time. She was always there, you just didn’t realise it.

Once you know that change has to happen, you realise that everything ahead of you is the great unknown. Uncertainty for humans occurs naturally, so wouldn’t it be nice to have someone to assist you through that awful phase of the unknown – helping you to realise that there is a whole new world for you to discover and create on your own terms, and with a clear strategy.

The trick is to take your focus off the vortex of the unknown, and switch to making conscious, aligned choices from the heart, for a life you actually want.

Creating A Next Chapter You Will Love!

Our lives consist of many different chapters and as a woman of 50+ you have probably already lived at least half of your life (although I’m all for living beyond 100!). You are also full of experience and knowledge about what you like and dislike; what you are willing to put up with or not. There’s that saying: “The older I get, the less I care what people think!”. True. But all of this doesn’t necessarily make it easy to create the life you want. So that’s where a life coach comes in.

A fresh start might mean, a relationship, going it alone, career change, or just a general knowing that so much is wrong with your current life, you feel like you want to recreate it.

Here are some signs that you are ready to start over:

  • You are constantly dreaming about a different life to the one you have
  • You feel you cannot speak your truth in your current situation
  • You often feel down or depressed, possibly helpless
  • You don’t sleep well, or you overeat, don’t eat at all, drink too much alcohol, spend money on things you don’t need, or all of the above!
  • Or you just know everything is wrong, but you don’t know where to start

The World Needs Women Like You

I want to shine a flashlight on your magic. It’s in there, I promise.

I want you to experience your best life, and it’s NEVER too late to make the change. I can’t wait to help you discover the amazing woman you already are!

PROGRESS… in any part of our life it’s all abo PROGRESS…
in any part of our life it’s all about patience. We don’t seem to have much these days, myself included! But I’ve stuck with stretching for a while now and I’m coming up to one year of dedicated Yoga practice. I do this for the sake of vitality and longevity. The sentence: “As we get older we need to be careful with exercise” is total BS. The fact is we have to move. We must include mobility in our day. Staying flexible keeps us agile. A bit of strength training and cardio will keep our heart serving us well. Don’t buy into societal beliefs that tell us we are done after 60. We are so NOT done. We are in fact blooming even more. If you haven’t yet and are not sure, just make a start of some sort and NEVER judge yourself. Listen to your body and go slowly but surely. Those last two photos are the difference between then and now, so I’m pleased with my progress ❤️ #womenover50 #fitover50 #yoga #flexibility #vitality #keepmoving
There is nothing like knowing someone has our back There is nothing like knowing someone has our back, no matter what. As a child that could be a parent, a family member, or a friend. As we get older it might also be our life partner. Whoever it is, it’s damn good to know that someone is always going to be there no matter how much we mess up. They simply trust that we can do better. They trust in our human nature to step up and be the person we are capable of being. I needed that as a young girl and for me that person was my Grandma. She was the one who told me “There’s no such word as can’t”! She gave me hope. She made me realise I can be whoever I want to be. Who is the person that believes in you? And if you think you don’t have one, well… I certainly believe in you ❤️ #gotyourback #trustinyourself
Autumn layering… Have fun with your clothes this Autumn layering…
Have fun with your clothes this Fall. Take a day out shopping to discover what feels good, what YOU feel good in and not what others say you should be wearing. Clothes are an expression of who you are and what’s better than showing up fully expressed! ❤️ #fashionover50 #fullyexpressedwoman #showupforyourself
Why aging women need to take their focus off of we Why aging women need to take their focus off of weight loss and onto muscle strength…
I see and hear women of all ages getting stressed about their weight gain and rather than nourishing their bodies with nutritious food they are panicking about when they can have their next piece of cake or glass of wine. My advice? Eat more nourishing foods - if you don’t know what they are look it up! Put the scales away and shift your focus onto how many different ways you are willing to move your body and how you can increase muscle mass through strength training, yoga, Pilates, whatever takes your fancy. The important thing is variety, so don’t just stick to one thing. Add a variety of ways to move all the different parts of your body, and make sure you are adding weight resistance to your routine. If you don’t you are going to suffer more injuries and breaks as you age. Just running marathons won’t help your all round strength. Strength training can reduce the risk of osteoporosis and the right trainer can help show you the right exercises if you already have it. Stronger muscles protect your bones. Move all the muscles and joints regularly. Eat cake and ice-cream once in a while - I do. I don’t drink alcohol but enjoy the odd glass of wine if you want to. Live well. Age well ❤️ #ageinggracefully #womenover50 #strengthtraining #exercise tips
If you’re feeling good today, pass it on. Smile If you’re feeling good today, pass it on. Smile at anyone, don’t wait for the occasion. Cheer up the check-out girl (or boy), not everyone is feeling it every day and sometimes they just need a bit of kindness to come their way. Share the love ❤️ #sharethelove #smile #smileyourdayaway
